The Story Behind WunderSketch – A Dad’s Answer to Screen Overload

When our founder Jeff became a dad, everything changed.

Like so many parents, he wanted his child to grow up curious, creative, and confident—not just entertained. But as his little one grew, something felt off.

At just a few years old, the glow of screens was everywhere: tablets, TVs, phones. They held his child’s attention longer than any book, puzzle, or traditional toy. New toys were exciting for a day… then forgotten. Drawing on paper ended in frustration, crumpled pages, and a mess on the table.

He kept asking himself:

“How can something as bright as a screen leave kids feeling so dull inside?”

He didn’t want to ban screens completely—that’s not realistic. He wanted to offer something better.

Something that could:

  • Capture a child’s attention like a screen

  • But give them space to think, create, and grow

That’s where the idea for WunderSketch began.

From Frustration to a Brighter Idea

Our founder dove into researching how children actually learn and develop best.

He spoke with:

  • Child development specialists

  • Educators

  • Parents who felt the same screen-time struggle

The message was clear:
Too much passive screen time can shorten attention spans and limit problem-solving skills. But the solution isn’t just taking screens away—
it’s giving kids something more engaging, more rewarding, and more creative.

He envisioned a tool that:

  • Felt as magical and exciting as a screen

  • Let kids express themselves freely without fear of making mistakes

  • Was mess-free, reusable, and easy for parents to love too

After months of prototyping, testing with real families, and refining the design with input from education and child development experts, the WunderSketch Glow Pad™ was born—a glowing, reusable drawing pad that makes creativity feel like pure magic.

When Creativity Wins Over Screens

The first true test? His own child.

The result was immediate.

Instead of asking, “Can I use your phone?” he started asking:

“Can I use my Glow Pad?”

He spent long stretches drawing, tracing, experimenting with colors, and inventing stories around his glowing creations. His confidence grew. His patience improved. He focused longer. He made mistakes—then wiped them away and tried again.

For the first time, our founder saw his child choosing creativity over screens.

That moment changed everything.
